Principal's Welcome.
MRS. CHIN LENG SIM @ MARINA CHIN, AMN, PJK.
Thank you for taking an interest in this top Malaysian Sport's School. The Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS) or Sekolah Sukan Bukit Jalil (SSBJ) is the first sport's school in Malaysia. The school is committed to producing outstanding sportsmen and women and the sporting prowess of BJSS students is undisputed as the school has been home to Malaysia's finest national juniors since the school was set up in 1996. Many of these fine young men and women have graduated to become top international athletes making the BJSS vision statement - "BJSS Generates World Class Athletes" a reality.
BJSS, administered by the Education Ministry's Physical Education and Sports Division, provides excellent education to prepare aspiring for a life after sports. The academic scheduling is flexible so that it is conducive to the training and competition needs of the students. Support systems like additional classes, modules and teachers accompanying teams have also been put in place to ensure that our student-athletes remain competitive academically.
The pre-university course under the guidance of the Education Ministry, Ministry of Higher Learning, University Putra Malaysia (UPM) and the National Sports Council (NSC) offers qualified national athletes the same flexibility and services at the school to help them prepare and qualify for degree programmes in University Putra Malaysia.
The safety, well-being and welfare of every student in the school are of paramount importance. Every care is taken to ensure that these young people are provided with the best possible nutrition and living conditions. The school views dicipline as a key issue in the development of a world class athlete and as such, the school has initiated many programmes to inculcate self discipline, time management as well as religious and cultural tolerance in the students.
The success of the school thus far, must surely be attributed to the excellent cooperation and support that the school has received from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Sports and Youth as well as the National Sports Council and National Sports Associations. The school looks forward to further strengthening this relationship to ensure further success for this school and for the nation. Lastly, 'if you cannot achieve your dream in your world, move to one where you can' - for aspiring Malaysian athletes, BJSS is that world.
